Many people felt that the year 2018 was quite dry, warm and sunny in many parts of Europe, including Germany. As the CM SAF is now generating and providing the new Interim Climate Data Records (ICDR), which consistently extend corresponding Thematical Climate Data Records (TCDR) into ‘near-real time’, anomalies can now be analyzed with high confidence. More: Sunny 2018 …
The CM SAF is happy to announce the availability of the new SEVIRI-based Interim Climate Data Record (ICDR) processing of cloud and radiation properties. The new ICDRs of clouds and radiation are replacing the previous operational products (EDRs) and are operational continuations of parameters from the Climate Data Records (CDRs) SARAH-2 and CLAAS-2, respectively. The products currently are provided under the status “pre-operational”. More: New operational Interim Climate Data Records (ICDRs) of radiation and cloud properties …
The CM SAF is happy to announce the release its Climate Data Record of Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) derived from the Spinning Enhance Visible and InfraRed Imager (SEVIRI) sensors onboard the Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) satellites. This record covers the period from 1 Feb 2004 to 31 Dec 2012 (Meteosat-8 and -9) and consists of daily and monthly means of AOD. More: Release of a first aerosol product in CM SAF …
The Hamburg Ocean Atmosphere Parameters and Fluxes from Satellite data record (HOAPS) is a completely satellite based climatology of various flux and atmospheric parameters over the global ice free oceans. A new version (HOAPS 4) has recently been released by CM SAF. More: Release of the HOAPS 4 data record …
The CLARA-A2 (CM SAF cLoud, Albedo and surface Radiation dataset from AVHRR data - Edition 2) record provides cloud properties, surface albedo and surface radiation parameters derived from the AVHRR sensor onboard polar orbiting NOAA and METOP satellites. This second edition is the improved and extended follow-up of the first version of the record (CLARA-A1) which now covers a 34 year time period (1982-2015). More: New Climate Data Record available: CLARA-A2 CM SAF Cloud, Albedo, Radiation data record, AVHRR-based, Edition 2 …
The new CM SAF SARAH data set provides climate-quality data of the surface solar radiation from 1983 to 2013, i.e., for more than 30 years. This long term data record allows for climatological analyses of the surface solar radiation. More: Climatology of Sunny Days in Europe based on SARAH …
